How To Install Private Internet Access VPN On Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick

How To Install Private Internet Access VPN On Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick
Learn how to install the Private Internet Access VPN on your Fire TV Box (Note there are issues with using this on older Fire TV Sticks).

Follow the full written guided here:

If you’re looking for ways to get around regional blackouts for sports, gain access to different countries services (like U.S Netflix) or protect/hide your identity online from things like Torrents and Acestreams then installing a VPN is a must. This how to guide will help you setup and install one of the most affordable and reliable VPN’s, Private Internet Access, onto your Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV stick.

We highly recommend a VPN whether you use the Fire TV for Kodi streaming or not.

What you’ll need to accomplish this:

– A Fire TV (
– Access to the Google Play Store to install Apps2Fire ( Mouse Toggle For Fire TV .97 ( and Private internet Access .33/month (

*You can avoid buying Mouse Toggle for Fire TV and plug in a USB into a Fire TV box (this won’t work on a Fire TV stick). I recommend using the Fire TV Toggle App, it’s easy to use once you get the hang of it.

I apologize for the quality of the portrait portion of the tutorial, screen recording from the Fire TV has been a nuisance.

  • I have a new fire stick and just wanted to mention a few things: 1. Your instructions work great up to the part where you use apps2fire. 2. apps2fire didn’t work on my stick. 3. After trying for about a 1/2 hour, I tried another app, Fire Installer, and smooth sailing from that point forward. So, your tutorial worked great, but maybe add a note that some folks will need to use another app to shoot everything over to their streaming device.

  • I installed PIA. On the website it shows a different ip address, however when I go to kodi, it did not change. I have a 2nd gen firestick so essentially, it should work right? Im not tech savvy whatsoever & am literally trying to figure out all this stuff now. Can someone tell me what im doing wrong? also how would I go about downloading this using es explorer? (again, i have no clue what im doing & appreciate any & all help)

  • Wow! Can’t believe I finally have VPN I tried several other YouTube videos and they really left me hanging not good. You were great you gave great directions you were clear and you didn’t miss anything. That’s the problem with some of them I’ve watched they forget to tell you something lwhen you’re right in the middle and well what was I supposed to do and then I’m stuck. So thanks very much! The only thing I didn’t need was the toggle my remote worked fine so maybe that was just from a while ago or something. ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŽ†๐Ÿ–ฅ

  • It installed OK for me, I am able to use it watching Exodus but Netflix detects the Proxy and will not allow me to watch unless I shut it off…is it just me?

  • Thank you for the awesome tutorial! I use hotspot to watch TV and I downloaded the PIA app on my tv which is currently connected. Do i also need to have the PIA app on my phone connected at the same time? I’m new to all this so I only understand the basics of how this works

  • Hi

Thanks… I managed to get it on to my Amazon Fire Stick and all seemed well however when I tried using, my BT HUB displayed a DNS error and dropped my internet connection. Suggesting that I am trying to access internet via a different DNS server and therefore BT Hub won’t allow connection to internet!!! Please help

  • fire stick with Alexa control makes a black screen after I log on to VPN, then when I click home screen I only see it for a second. someone please help

  • Amazon blocks my vpn if I try to watch Amazon movies. It says Restricted because of location. I would like to leave PIA on full time and not have to disconnect to watch Amazon instead of KODI. Any suggestions?

  • I’ve set mine up and it appears to connect ok, but when I go on the pia site it says I’m not protected, and 1channel won’t work (I’m in the UK)

It appears that the vpn app won’t run in the background.

  • You talk to much had to leave video by the way if you have a Rii2 you can do all of the things you talked about (boarding) and wasted time on
